PMI-funded antimalarial drugs have saved the life of Zainabu Hamis Maubi, the 2½-year-old twin girl on the right. Her aunt, now her caretaker since her mother died giving birth to triplets, had brought her to the local health center in Kibiti, a village in Tanzania’s Rufiji district, for a blood test to ensure the medicines had killed all the malaria parasites in her blood. The test confirmed the elimination of all the parasites. |
