A community health volunteer called a “relay” works in villages to mobilize communities to seek care and preventive services, especially immunizations and prenatal care. In Mali, only 26 percent of the population has access to community-based services. USAID supports community facilities and organizations to contribute to behavior change within communities and reduce the risks related to the most deadly child diseases.
