The Alliance for Malaria Prevention (AMP) was created to help end malaria deaths and to meet the challenge by U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to cover every man, woman, and child at risk for malaria with a mosquito net by December 31, 2010. The AMP is a subgroup of the Roll Back Malaria Partnership, which represents more than 30 partners, including government, business, and faith-based and humanitarian organizations.

The PMI and Gender fact sheet addresses how PMI’s activities pertain to gender-sensitive programming. This fact sheet includes a brief summary on malaria transmission, prevention, and treatment in the context of gender and on how PMI's activities reflect and respect differences between men and women. PMI in-country advisors and USAID health officers may find this information useful in discussions with other partners and stakeholders in the field, as it provides information on how PMI envisions the role of gender in public health program activities.

The PMI Web site has been redesigned based on the input we received from the country teams during the general meeting in March. The new Web site received new graphics and navigation. More importantly, the new site also gives us the ability to feature more local content from the 15 PMI focus countries. We will work with the country teams to gather updates, stories, and photos to highlight on the Web site. New PMI Publications
